Our strategy provides a clear and consistent roadmap for building a world-class manufacturing organisation. Anchored in our purpose of delivering best-in-class critical connections, it is structured around four key priorities, that together drive sustainable growth, maximise profitability and cash flow and create enduring value for our customers, people and shareholders.
Target and scale with category leaders
We are deliberate about the customers we pursue. Volex focuses on category leaders: businesses that hold a number one, two or three position in their respective markets, invest at the leading edge of their industries and drive long term structural demand. By aligning to their design cycles, embedding within their manufacturing processes and becoming integral to how they build their products, we create durable, deeply embedded relationships that are difficult for competitors to replicate.
Move up the complexity curve (in every market)
Volex thrives where manufacturing demands are most exacting. Across every end-market, our strategy is to pursue increasingly complex applications: solutions that require deep engineering expertise, stringent quality standards and close collaboration with customers’ development teams. Complexity creates barriers to substitution, supports premium pricing and underpins our margin progression.
Scale capability across new markets and geographies
Volex grows organically by applying proven capabilities to adjacent opportunities in a measured, disciplined manner. Rather than speculative expansion, we pursue successive, logical steps, translating expertise developed in one market or region into new contexts where we can add demonstrable value. This approach manages risk while progressively expanding the Group’s addressable market.
Acquire capability that accelerates organic growth
Acquisitions play a specific and defined role within Volex’s strategy: they are used to acquire capabilities or market positions that strengthen the organic growth flywheel, rather than simply adding revenue. Every transaction is capability-led, targeting businesses in complex manufacturing segments where Volex already has depth and where the acquired capability can be deployed across the Group to generate incremental value with existing customers.
