RNS Number:8466O Volex Group PLC 02 January 2007 VOLEX GROUP PLC (the "Company") 2nd January 2007 Holdings In The Company On 28 December 2006, The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. notified the Company that it had acquired an undisclosed number of shares and as at 22 December 2006, it held a total of 9,132,906 ordinary 25p shares, representing 16.12% of the issued share capital in the Company. The holding comprised of 5,124,748 ordinary shares registered in the name of Goldman Sachs Securities (Nominees) Limited and 4,008,158 ordinary shares registered in the name of CREST Account CREPTEMP. On 29 December 2006, a further notification was received from The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. confirming that it had sold an undisclosed number of ordinary 25p shares and that as at 27 December 2006, it held a total of 8,957,349 ordinary 25p shares in the Company representing 15.81% of the Company's issued shares capital. The holding comprises of 5,124,748 ordinary shares registered in the name of Goldman Sachs Securities (Nominees) Limited and 3,832,601 ordinary 25p shares registered in the name of CREST Account CREPTEMP. The interest arose from 5,124,748 ordinary shares held by Goldman Sachs & Co., a wholly owned direct subsidiary of The Goldman Sachs Group Inc. acting as custodian for its customers and also 3,832,601 shares held by Goldman Sachs international, a wholly owned subsidiary of the Goldman Sachs Group Inc.
